There are some big changes coming to ProteusThemes very soon. And as many of our customers will be affected by our plans, we want to ensure that we promptly and clearly communicate why, how, and when things will be changing.
We have been in business for four years now, and we have loved every minute of it. But within the context of ThemeForest, the market for WordPress themes is continually becoming a more competitive and frankly difficult environment in which to sustain a properly functioning company.
In order to keep creating, updating and supporting our themes at the highest level, we have decided to start selling our products outside of ThemeForest. In our very own ProteusThemes shop. The shop will be open for business within the next two weeks. We will give you all the other details in due course, but first we want to explain how this will affect existing customers.
If you have bought Bolts, LegalPress or Readable then this is especially important information. Those three themes will be moved to a non-exclusive ThemeForest account. This means that you will no longer be able to download the theme or receive any updates or support via our existing ThemeForest account.
In order to make this transition as smooth as possible, we will be offering anybody who has bought these themes a 100% discount code to repurchase them from our new shop. You can access the code by contacting us via the Live Chat on our website. We offered 100% discount codes for repurchase till the Dec 1, 2016. We’ve tried to reach everyone over newsletter, support tickets from the past and social media. If you are one of these who missed the 1 ½ month window for free license should contact us immediately and we will offer you a fair compensation.
We can’t stress enough how important it is that you do this. As a gesture of goodwill to all of our other customers, those of you who have purchased any of our themes will also receive a 50% discount for the best value package that we will be offering in the shop.
We understand that this is a little bit of hassle and we apologize for that, but we are not doing this for the fun of it. And whether it is for our support, updates, features, compatibility, or just great new products – we want to be a theme author that you know you can rely on for years to come. We see this as an unavoidable growing pain along that road.
We kindly ask for your patience during this process. We are very excited, and hope that when our shop does launch that you will join us for the ride!
